Chocolate Mousse Oreo Pie
Ingredients
Crust
- 24 Oreo Cookies
- 3 Tablespoon butter
Mousse Layer
- 8 oz. package semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 Tablespoon butter
- 1 egg yolks
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Cream Topping
- 8 Oreo Cookies
- 2 cup whipped topping, thawed
- 8 oz. cream cheese, room temperature
- 25 Mini Oreo Cookies
Instructions
Crust
- Take 24 Oreo cookies and make them into crumbs in a food processor.
- Melt the butter and combine it with the cookie crumbs.
- Press into a pie plate and refrigerate while you make the mousse layer
Mousse Layer
- Combine the chocolate chips and butter in a microwave safe bowl.
- Heat in the microwave for about 30 seconds, and stir until melted completely.
- Put the chocolate in a mixer bowl and add the egg yolk, sugar, cream and vanilla.
- Beat until it is creamy.
- Spread the Mousse on top of the crust and refrigerate for at least an hour.
- This is a good time to get out the cream cheese so it comes to room temperature.
Cream Topping
- Chop the remaining 8 Oreo cookies into small pieces but don't crush them like the pie crust Oreos.
- In a mixer bowl combine the whipped topping and cream cheese and beat until smooth.
- Fold in the chopped cookies, and then spread on top of the pie.
- Add mini Oreos around the edge of the pie to decorate. Chill until time to serve.
